Catherine Adebukola Oladoyinbo (PhD), is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB) and a fellow of the African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD). Her expertise and leadership is in Community/Public Health Nutrition and behavioural Science. She is the African Principal Investigator (PI) of the Africa Behavioural Research (ABeR) Centre and the site PI for the Prostate Cancer Transatlantic Consortium (CaPTC) FUNAAB.
Dr Oladoyinbo has worked in various communities in South-West Nigeria, on creating awareness and educating people in the community on behavioural and lifestyle changes to prevent Non-Communicable Disease (NCDs). Her research focus is on providing evidence-based interventions for the prevention of Non- communicable Diseases through dietary, environmental and lifestyle behavioural modifications.
Dr Oladoyinbo has established some research collaborations within Nigeria and internationally and in capacity building, she has successfully supervised several undergraduate students, mentored 16 pre-doctoral students and 1 post-doctoral scholar. As a scholar, she has won five fellowships from African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD), Nestle Nutrition Institute Africa (NNIA), the WagenigenCentre for Development and Innovations and the University of Ibadan.
She won a seed grant in 2015 on the Validation of an Environmental Behavioural Risk Survey Instrument for Studies of Prostate Cancer in Western Nigeria from the Prostate Cancer Transatlantic Consortium (CaPTC) and University of Florida. She was recipient of an award funded by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) for a study focused on the development, standardization and adoption of locally produced complementary food in Nigeria. The ABeR Center,is a three-time awardee of the NCI/CGH research training awardfor training of academic behavioural scientists and residents in Basic behavioural science, Behavioural intervention trials and Implementation Science.
She is a member of Nutrition Society of Nigeria (NSN), America Society for Nutrition (ASN), Nigeria Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFST), The Nutrition Society (NS)World Public Health Nutrition Association (WPHNA) and the African Organization for Research and Training in Cancer (AORTIC).
