Short Profile

Professor Ibiyemi Olayiwola is a PhD holder from the faculty of Public Health University of Ibadan in human nutrition 2004.
Ibiyemi Olayiwola a Professor of Human Nutrition and Dietetics for the past eight years in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Nigeria. She has over twenty-five years of professional experience in nutrition and dietetics of teaching, research and community service. Have visited the various colleges of health sciences to profess nutrition and dietetics.
She is a member of various professional bodies within and outside Nigeria such as the nutrition society of Nigeria, Nigeria Institute for training and development (NITAD), American society of nutrition, and Information Technology and Nutrition Africa, International Union of Nutrition Science (IUNS); America Gerontological Society (AGS).
My goals and area of interest are to apply nutrition and dietetics towards community development, gender capacity and poverty alleviation.
My research focus on elderly nutrition and other vulnerable is to make them come out of nutritional problems. Use locally produced foods to maintain normal Nutritional status, and solve health challenges.
Currently working on a more innovative approach to disseminating Nutrition and Dietetics to the vulnerable through advocacy and capacity building.
Membership of professional bodies within and outside includes the nutrition society of Nigeria and the American society of nutrition. Others are Canada society of nutrition and information Technology and nutrition Africa.
Professor Ibiyemi Olayiwola consultancy services cut across various national and international non-governmental organizations.
Assistant coordinator and co- investigation of US/PEPFAR/UNAAB on the awareness and prevention of HIV in Nigeria University campus (2005-2007).
Assistant co-coordinator on Nigeria food composition Data (2015-2017).
A resource person to Ogun state committee of food and nutrition (2010, 2014, 2017-till date. Resource person to UNICEF Intervention programme (2008-2011; 2014-2019).
Consultant to PATH on Formative research to improve maternal and newborn care in Nigeria 2008-2009. Co-investigator on African Food Crop Development for Optimum Nutritional Qualities, 2008-2011 sponsored by AAU. International collaboration and external assessor to University of Ghana, department of Dietetics, University of Developmental studies Tamale, Ghana and University of Sierra Leone Njala College of Agriculture, home economics department.
Incapacity building, training and human capital development, Olayiwola have supervised ten PhD students in nutrition and dietetics, about twenty MSc Students in Nutrition and Dietetics and over one hundred undergraduate students till date.
The research works have been in over seventy articles in Journals belonging to professional bodies, Universities and international publishers such as the Nigerian journal of nutritional sciences, Nigeria food Journal, Nigeria Medical Association Journals and public health journals in Cambridge, Emeralds and Elsevier Publications. Other articles are within the professional publishers outside Nigeria.
