Dr Oloye Abimbola received is doctorate in Veterinary Reproduction (Theriogenology) from the prestigious University of Ibadan, Nigeria, the same institution where he had is undergraduate and Masters studies. He has been a College Board member at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Nigeria since 2007. At the College, he lectures veterinary andrology, gynaecology and obstetrics and mentors undergraduate and postgraduate students particularly on research. Dr Oloye’s research in veterinary reproduction focuses on reproductive toxicology and reproduction enhancement using natural products in food animals. Dr Oloye’s interest in ethno-veterinary medicine stemmed from his desire to help in addressing toxicity associated with treatment of diseases in animals especially as it affects their reproductive health. In pursuance of this, he has at various times worked with vegetative materials like Hog plum leaves, coconut milk and pawpaw juice. He has also collaborated with colleagues at different times working on the Guava and Acalypha wilkesiana. In the year 2012, Dr Oloye did a PhD sandwish programme at Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland. During this period, fractionation, isolation, purification procedures and bioactivity of isolated compounds were done. In years to come he plans to project the study of ethno-theriogenology in developing countries of the world
