OYEWUSI, Ibironke Kofoworola 

Short Profile

Professor Ibironke Kofoworola Oyewusi is a Lecturer in the Department of Veterinary Medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. She was employed as a Lecturer II in 2006 and has rose through the ranks to the post of a Professor since 2020. She is a food animal medicine specialist with vast experience of over twenty-five years. Her work include teaching (Undergraduate and Postgraduate), research and extension services.

She was born in 28th of November, 1969 and hails from Ilesha, Osun State, Nigeria and got married in 1998. She obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 1994 and Masters of Veterinary Science (MVSc) in 1997 from University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. She got her Doctor of Philosophy degree in 2014 from Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria.

She has served as the Acting Head of Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery, and also as the Acting Head of Department of Veterinary Medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. She is currently the Chairman of College farm. She is a member of various committees both within and outside the College.

Her research interest is in the area of Veterinary Medicine, most especially on parasitic diseases of cattle, sheep, goats and pigs. She has over thirty journal articles in both local and foreign journals.

She is a Fellow of College of Veterinary Surgeons Nigeria; registered with the Veterinary Council of Nigeria and a Member of Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA). She is also a Member of the following associations: International Goat Association (IGA), British Society of Animal Science (BSAS), and Parasitology and Public Health Society of Nigeria (PPSN).

Her hobbies include counselling and visitation.
