Professor Ibironke Kofoworola Oyewusi is a Lecturer in the Department of Veterinary Medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. She was employed as a Lecturer II in 2006 and has grown through the ranks to the post of full Professor in 2020. She is a food animal medicine specialist with vast experience of over thirty years. Her work includes teaching (Undergraduate and Postgraduate), research and extension services.
She was born in 28th of November 1969, hails from Ilesha, Osun State, Nigeria and got married in 1998. She obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 1994 and Master of Veterinary Science (MVSc) in 1997 from University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She got her Doctor of Philosophy degree in 2014 from Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria. Professor Oyewusi is a Consultant to Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta and has held administrative responsibility positions as the Head of Department for various periods and Chairman, COLVET farm.
Her research interest is in food animal medicine, most especially on parasitic and bacterial diseases of cattle, sheep, and goats. She has over forty journal articles in both local and foreign journals.
She is a Fellow of College of Veterinary Surgeons Nigeria; registered with the Veterinary Council of Nigeria and a Member of Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA). She is also a Member of International Goat Association (IGA) and Parasitology and Public Health Society of Nigeria (PPSN).
