Mr. SANDA Adeyinka Julius, started his higher education in 2003 at Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology (I A R & T) moor plantation Ibadan, Nigeria. where he obtained a National Diploma Degree in Animal Health and Production Technology and graduated with an upper credit level with a cum. G.P.A of (3.30) out of a total G.P.A of (4.0) in 2005, there after he proceeded for his first degree in 2006 at Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. Nigeria, and graduated in 2010 from the Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics with a First Class Honours of a cum. G.P.A of (4.55) from a total G.P.A of (5.0). He graduated as the best student in the department which earned him several awards. based on this outstanding result he was offered an automatic employment as a Junior Research Fellow in the department after his one year National Youth Service Corps in 2011, also he enjoyed a part scholarship for his M. Agric. programme which he completed April, 2014 and he was upgraded to the position of an Assistant Lecturer.
In 2017, Mr. Sanda received an Award of Ph.D. Fellowship by African Chicken Genetic Gain Nigeria under International Livestock Research Institute, Addis Ababa Ethiopia for his Ph.D. programme which is currently ongoing and he was also promoted to the position of Lecturer II in October, same year. Since 2012 till date, he has attended various conferences, workshops, trainings and have a total of twelve (12) Journal articles in reputable high impact journals (Local and International), one (1) book, one (1) chapter in a book and four (4) conference proceedings. He has since been a staff of the department and he has been doing all the statutory duties as a Lecturer in the Department. He has been saddled with responsibilities both at the departmental and college level.
His area of interest is in Animal breeding and Genetics. He is currently working on ghrelin gene (GHRL) polymorphism within the exons 2 and 3in three chicken genotypes and their association with growth and body size parameters. His carrier goal is targeted toward improving genetically local breeds of Chicken through the use of latest technologies with significant impact, resulting in increasing demands for traditional livestock products thereby improving the economic status of farmers and ultimately reduction of poverty in Africa.
