Prof. Grace Oluseyi Sokoya is a Registered Nurse/Midwife,Family therapist and Gender Specialist. She holds a B.Sc (Nursing Education), 2 Masters and 2 Ph.D degrees. Her first Master’s degree is in Educational Planning & Policy, from the University of Ibadan, and the second in Community Health Nursing, from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban South Africa. Her first doctoral degree is in Institutional Administration,from the University of Ibadan (1990), while the second, is in Gender Studies, from the University of Natal,Durban South-Africa (2003). She is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (MNIM),and Fellow of the prestigious West African College of Nursing (FWACN). Grace Sokoya is a dual Professor.She is Professor of Gender & Family Studies at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Nigeria,and a Visiting Professor of Nursing at the University of Jos (UNIJOS) Nigeria. She combines teaching with research and extension services at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB). She is the first female Director of Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB),a position she held for 5 years (2013-2018). She has two textbooks to her credit and has published numerous articles in learned academic journals, across disciplines, in Nursing, Community Health, Gender and Family Studies ,Agricultural Extension, Educational Management and Institutional Administration, among others. She has also served as Facilitator, Keynote Speaker and Guest Lecturer at several conferences, Continuing Education and Capacity-building programmes across disciplines,locally and internationally. Her passion for enhancing the quality of health care delivery and family health spans over 30 years and got crystallized during her last Sabbatical in the United States of America (2019-2020); where she served with Family Resources and Youth Foundation (FRYFOUND)International,as a Gender Specialist, and Alaris Health @ St.Mary’s, New Jersey,USA.
