SOTILOYE, Bosede Sinmisola

Short Profile

Bosede Sotiloye is a Professor of Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) in the Department of Communication and General Studies Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, where she teaches English Language and Communication Studies. Born on 1st January, 1961, she had her primary education at St. James’ C.A.C. Primary School, Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria from where she proceeded to St. Louis Grammar School, Mokola, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria from 1973-77 for her secondary education. She obtained her B.A. (English), M.A. (Linguistics), and Ph.D (Linguistics) in 1984, 1987, and 1997 respectively, from the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. She was employed as an Assistant Lecturer in 1988 at the Linguistics Department of the University of Ilorin, and was promoted to Lecturer II in 1992. She transferred her services to the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta in 2000 when she was employed as Lecturer I. She rose through the ranks to the position of a Professor in 2018. She served as the Acting Head of the Department of Communication and General Studies from 2009 to 2012 and is currently the Deputy Dean of the College of Agricultural Management and Rural Development. She is happily married to Dr O. S. Sotiloye and is blessed with children and grandchildren. Above all, she is a child of God.
