Short Profile

Soyinka Kudirat Olabisi, a graduate of Plant Physiology and Crop Production, Federal University of Agriculte, Abeokuta, is an agricultural researcher with academic and professional interests in agronomy, soil fertility management, plant nutrition, and nutrient-use efficiency. Her research is primarily focused on developing and evaluating sustainable crop production practices that enhance productivity, improve the efficiency of agricultural inputs, and contribute to food security. Her scholarly interests centre particularly on arable crops production systems. Her research encompasses nitrogen management, nitrogen-use efficiency, fertilizer-use efficiency, varietal performance, slow- and controlled-release fertilizers, and nano-fertilizer technologies. She is particularly interested in understanding how different nutrient-management strategies influence crop growth, physiological development, biomass accumulation, yield formation, nutrient uptake, and overall agronomic performance. Her work also considers the interaction between crop varieties and fertilizer-management practices in order to identify approaches that are both agronomically effective and environmentally sustainable. A major area of her research interest is the application of nanotechnology in agricultural production, particularly the use of nano-fertilizers as an innovative approach to improving nutrient availability and utilization by crops. She is interested in evaluating the potential of these technologies to enhance crop productivity while reducing nutrient losses and improving the efficiency of fertilizer application. Her research also extends to the economic evaluation of fertilizer technologies, recognizing the importance of profitability and resource-use efficiency in the adoption of improved agricultural practices.
