THOMPSON Olasupo Olakunle

Short Profile

Dr O. O. Thompson (as he is fondly called in the academia) is a blend of tradition and liberalism. He bagged a Certificate and Diploma in Public Administration at the Institute of Public Administration and Extension Services, University of Benin; BA (International Studies and Diplomacy from the University of Benin, Benin City Nigeria); MA History and Strategic Studies, MSc (Political Science from the University of Lagos) and a PhD in History and
International Studies University of Ilorin). He worked briefly as the Coordinator of the public and International Relations Department, Olabisi Onabanjo university consult, Ikeja study centre, Lagos State, before he joined the federal university of agriculture Abeokuta. He teaches courses in History and Political Science. His areas of specializations are Social History (women and health history) and African Politics, comparative Politics, security and vulnerable population. He is currently an ACCEL Fellow for the International Labour Organisation on Child Labour, a grantee of the IGFRA on the 2023 general elections and part of the Institute for Water Education
(DUPC3 research Grant team. He is also a public affairs analyst. He is hardworking, diligent and resilient. He is a team player and strives to improve himself. While he still strives to learn from the grandmasters; he is also generous to share the little he has with the up and coming scholars. He enjoys teaching, playing football and traveling.
