Professor Gideon Ufoegbune is a Professor of Remote Sensing and Agrometerology in the department of Water Resources Management and Agrometeorology. Prof. Ufogbune obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Geography, a Master’s degree in Remote Sensing Application, and a Doctoral degree in Agrometeorology. He joined the active service of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) in 2001 as an Assistant Lecturer, where he rose through the rank to become a professor in 2016. Prof. Ufoegbune is an astute researcher with a multidisciplinary research interest. He is currently the Editor in Chief of the Journal of Meteorology and Climate Science, a journal of the Nigerian Meteorological Society (NiMET). He is also an editor for several journals, including the Journal of Metrology, Hydrology and Climate Change. He is also the Chairperson, Publication Committee of the newly formed Journal of African Meteorological Society (AfMS). His research expertise cut across the application of Geographic Information System (GIS), remote sensing in agrometeorology, hydrology and climate sciences.
