Speed barriers erected at some major parts of the road to avert possible re-occurrence.
The University Management has called on members of the University Community, especially motorists to obey traffic regulations, especially while plying intra and inter campus routes.
Rising from a meeting on Saturday, Principal Officers of the University, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Bandele Oyewole, Chairman, Committee of Deans and Directors (CODAD) and Directors of essential services decried the rising spate of reckless driving of members of the University community within and outside the campus.
The Management observed with serious concern, incessant over speeding of staff while in haste to meet resumption deadline.
It condemned the development, describing it as dangerous, uncalled for and least expected of members of an enlightened academic community.
The Management, therefore, warned motorists, especially in the University Community to desist from reckless driving or be ready to face the music.
Meanwhile, speed barriers have been erected on FUNAAB’s portion of the Alabata-Camp road, in addition to those on campus.
The erection was based on the directive of the Management and it is aimed at curbing reckless driving on the road .
