It was a moment of joy and heartfelt admiration as staff members of the Student Affairs Division, the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), led by the Dean, Prof. Festus Adeosun, surprised the Deputy Dean, Prof. Oluseyi Ojekunle, with a warm 50th birthday celebration in his office, today, April 7, 2025.
Although Prof. Ojekunle’s birthday was officially marked on Saturday, April 5, 2025, the Division’s celebration added an extra layer of excitement, underscoring the high regard in which he is held by colleagues and associates within the University community.
In his goodwill remarks, Prof. Adeosun described the celebrant as a man of exceptional character and humility, whose journey through life and academia “defies simple narration.” He extolled Prof. Ojekunle’s impressive academic pedigree, which includes a First-Class Honours Degree and advanced postgraduate training in China, noting that these achievements reflect his dedication and brilliance.
Beyond academics, the Dean lauded the celebrant as a devoted family man, a peace-loving individual, and a team player who remains open to correction and constructive criticism. He further highlighted Prof. Ojekunle’s commitment to his church and his remarkable contributions to scientific research and teaching.
The celebratory atmosphere was rich with glowing tributes from colleagues, who shared inspiring anecdotes about Prof. Ojekunle’s ability to multitask effectively and deliver excellence across all his responsibilities.
Highpoint was the presentation of a giant Birthday Card, cutting of cake and refreshments.
Among the dignitaries present at the event were the Chairman, Timetable and Examinations Committee (TIMTEC), Engr. (Prof.) Pius Dada; Academic Officer of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology (OYSCATECH), Prof. Emmanuel Idehen; Part-Time Degree Programme Coordinator, Dr. Enovwo Odjegba; Student Affairs Officer, Mrs. Wuraola Badmus; and several members of the Student Affairs Division, alongside friends and well-wishers from across various Departments.
