In order to promote eye health awareness and provide accessible vision care to the University Community, Tee Queen Eye Optical Centre, in collaboration with the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), is set to organise a free eye screening exercise for staff members and students.
In a statement signed by the Head Optometrist and Team Lead, Dr. Philip Umuigbe, the screening would include a comprehensive range of tests such as visual acuity assessment, image capturing (retina photography), colour vision identification, long-distance vision investigation, and several other essential eye examinations.
Dr. Umuigbe further emphasised that recommended prescription eyeglasses would be made available at a subsidised (negotiable) rate for those who need them following the screening.
The free eye screening programme is scheduled to take place from Monday, February 2, 2026, to Wednesday, February 4, 2026, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. daily at the Conference Room, Health Services.
Staff and students are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to have their eyes checked at no cost.
