TFN Applauds FUNAAB’s Conducive Learning Environment, Confirms Return Visit in 2026

A delegation from Teach For Nigeria (TfN) has commended the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) for its exceptional facilities and serene academic environment during the hosting of the 2025 Pre-Service Training Institute (PSTI), describing the institution as highly conducive for learning, training, and research.

The team appreciated FUNAAB’s stable power and water supply, comfortable accommodation, and well-maintained campus, noting that these amenities significantly enhanced the success of their programme.

To further strengthen collaboration, TFN expressed interest in engaging FUNAAB professors as facilitators in future capacity-building programmes, in recognition of the University’s academic excellence and resourcefulness.

Reaffirming their satisfaction with their stay, the TFN delegation announced plans to return to FUNAAB on August 10, 2026, demonstrating their commitment to sustained partnership and continuous improvement in education quality through shared initiatives and infrastructural development.

The visit, led by TFN Programme Director, Ms. Bosede Ogidan, was a post-programme review aimed at assessing learning conditions, infrastructure, and participant welfare. The team was warmly received by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi who represented the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde.

Discussions during the meeting focused on enhancing teaching and learning environments, expanding welfare support, and deepening institutional ties. Among the key recommendations were: Establishment of a crèche for nursing mothers; Introduction of flexible seating in learning spaces; Construction of a multipurpose large lecture theatre for both internal and external users; and Optimisation of existing facilities to improve overall utilisation.

The team also underscored the importance of physical wellness, recommending regular campus walks for participants to promote health and appreciation of FUNAAB’s tranquil surroundings.

The visit concluded on a note of mutual appreciation, with both institutions reaffirming their shared vision of advancing education through strategic partnerships and continuous development.
