The high-powered delegation from The Bahamas, led by His Excellency, Ambassador (Dr.) William John Godfrey Eneas, today, February 12, 2025, made a slide presentation on the proposed collaborative actions between The Bahamas and FUNAAB which centred on Academia, Research, Culture and Tourism.
Dr. Eneas also provided a documentary on the history of The Bahamas, as well as insights into the mission and vision of the Carribean country.
Playing host to the distinguished delegation, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde expressed excitement about the partnership, stating the University’s commitment to fostering mutually beneficial relationships. He highlighted The Bahamas’ vast tourism potential and the opportunity for the University and the country to learn from each other.
The Vice-Chancellor encouraged the delegates to freely engage with the University Community, reaffirming the University’s commitment to work diligently on the proposed initiatives, while assuring them of FUNAAB’s readiness to take concrete steps toward implementing the ideas for the mutual benefit of both parties.
Dr. Patricia Symonette followed with an engaging brief on the country’s top tourist attractions, showcasing The Bahamas’ appeal as a global destination.
Furthering discussions on academic collaboration, Prof. Akin Omotayo presented a proposal outlining potential areas of partnership between FUNAAB and The Bahamas. The delegation would proceed on a guided tour of FUNAAB’s selected facilities tomorrow.
