The topmost echelon of the Association of Deans of Agriculture in Nigerian Universities (ADAN) led by their President, Prof. Olumuyiwa Jayeoba paid a Courtesy Visit to the Vice-Chancellor on April 5, 2024.
Speaking at the brief ceremony, the President of ADAN, Prof. Jayeoba stated that the Visit was to ascertain the University’s level of preparation for the forthcoming ADAN Conference slated for July 7 to 11, 2024.
Prof. Jayeoba who is also the Director, Amina Mohammed Centre for Climate Change, Nasarawa University, Keffi, appreciated the Vice-Chancellor for facilitating a seamless passage upon his arrival at the airport.
Besides, he noted that the forthcoming Conference would be centred around the theme, “Climate Change: Agricultural Innovations and Bio-Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Development, Food Sufficiency, and Economic Transformation,” with an anticipated attendance of numerous dignitaries from all over the country.
Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde reiterated the University’s readiness to host the Conference, saying that adequate preparation has been put in place to host the members.
Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, the Vice-Chancellor stated that all hands have been on deck, noting the meticulous preparations by the University to ensure a seamless experience for all participants of the Conference.
Highlighting the University’s collective effort, the Vice-Chancellor emphasised the level of preparation to host the Conference in three months time, saying that the Local Organising Committee (LOC) has been engaged in the planning, thereby stressing FUNAAB’s commitment to organising a successful Conference.
Present at the meeting were the Chairman, LOC, Prof. Olusiji Sowande; the Secretary, Prof. Emmanuel Fakoya, and Prof. Adeboye Fafiolu who has been entrusted with Conference Accommodation arrangements.
