Principal Officers from the Taraba State University (TSU), Jalingo, recently visited the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) to seek its mentorship and understudy its structural development.
In his Address to the TSU delegation, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde expressed gratitude for TSU’s decision to model its development after FUNAAB.
He emphasised FUNAAB’s reputation as a leading University, highlighting its ranking as the Best University of Agriculture in Africa and 7th globally by Times Higher Education.
The achievement, he noted, was due to the dedication and professionalism of FUNAAB’s staff and the University’s focus on its foundational mandates.
Prof. Kehinde shared that FUNAAB had also benefited from mentorship by other universities in the past, which contributed to its success.
He invited the TSU delegates to freely ask questions and engage with FUNAAB’s Deans, Directors, and Heads of Units.
Speaking on behalf of the TSU delegation, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Dr. Reuben Johnathan commented on FUNAAB’s structural development and acknowledged the rapid growth of TSU, particularly its Faculty of Agriculture.
He expressed appreciation for the warm reception from FUNAAB’s Management, especially the Vice-Chancellor, even as he appreciated the University’s impressive achievements.
The Two-Day visit concluded with tours of FUNAAB’s Colleges, Directorates, Centers, and Units of interest to the TSU delegation.
The TSU delegates included the DVC, Development Services, Prof. Mahmud Umar, and the Director, International Collaboration & Linkages, Dr. Pomak Tanya.
