The Ogun State Police Command has again reinforced the contention that the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (UNAAB), remained the most peaceful institution in the State, devoid of traces of cultism.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Command, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, made the disclosure during a live radio programme, Day Break Show, on Rockcity FM, Abeokuta, last Tuesday.

Mr. Adejobi commended the University Management, under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwafemi Olaiya Balogun, for its unyielding adherence to zero-tolerance for indiscipline as well as its maintenance of a robust relationship with the Police.

According to him, the University Management has assisted the Police to keep a crime-free society as there are no records of student unrest and cultism on campus under the present administration of the University.

Mr. Adejobi also lauded the efforts of the institution’s Director Environmental Management Unit (EMU), Mr. Sunday Bolarinwa, for his pro-activeness, an attribute which the Police Chief noted was lacking in many of the CSOs of higher institutions.

The Police PRO called on other institutions to emulate the University’s security pattern and also effectively engage the services of the Police, to mitigate criminal tendencies amongst students.
