The Vice-Chancellor, University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (UNAAB), Professor Oluwafemi Olaiya Balogun has said that the University Library has witnessed unparalleled development under the leadership of the immediate past University Librarian, Rev. Abayomi Tunji Agboola.
He said this at the Send-Forth party, held in honour of the retired Librarian, at the ‘Nimbe Adedipe Library’s Board Room .
According to him, Mr. Agboola was distinguished during his tenure in office, adding that he was able to secure a second term appointment because of his impressive performance.
Professor Balogun who described Rev. Agboola as a rallying-point for his former staff, stressed that he did not as a Vice-Chancellor, receive any petition about him.
The Vice-Chancellor further described Mr. Agboola as an “integrity personified staff with which the University has been blessed with, an unparalleled-being with unparalleled-disposition, quiet but dedicated to the core and a good team player who always accepted, abided by and implemented decisions of the Management, in good faith.”
Later in his remarks, the retired University Librarian, Rev. Agboola appreciated the staff of the Library for deeming it fit to organize a befitting Send-Forth party for him, saying that he was overwhelmed by the event.
He also thanked the Vice-Chancellor for his contributions towards the rehabilitation of the facilities in the University’s Library, and also for all his landmark projects.
Speaking earlier, the Pioneer University Librarian, Dr. Taofeek Salisu, expressed his delight that Mr. Agboola proved a worthy successor to him, praying for a continuation of the trend.
