Dr. Adesina Sodiya commended the giant stride of ICT deployment in the University, noting that NCS will always be appreciative of organizations that promote the practice and appropriate usage of ICT in their establishments. The Branch Chairman said Professor Balogun achieved the feat ahead of the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Professor Adebisi Balogun and the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Dr. Raheem Oloyo, who also emerged second and third respectively. Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwafemi Olaiya Balogun, said the incumbent administration of the University embarked on aggressive ICT deployment as a necessary precondition to produce internationally acclaimed graduates. Professor Balogun seized the opportunity to appreciate the Governing Council and Senate for providing the required wherewithal and support that had enabled the University to enjoy the lowest bandwidth tariff and a constantly updated ICT service. The Vice-Chancellor assured that the University would not relent in its efforts, saying “though we are not doing badly, but we are still not satisfied with the present level. We shall always inject latest infrastructure to ensure we maintain undisrupted internet service”. Professor Balogun who observed that the Award would serve as a challenge as well as an impetus to do more, dedicated it to the entire staff and students of the University. |
