The Amir of the University Muslim Community, Dr. Taofiq Salisu, has called on members to contribute meaningfully towards the construction of a befitting mosque in the University.

Dr. Salisu who is the Director of the Institute for Human Resources Development (INHURD), made the call at a reception organized by the community, in honour of Professor Kehinde Okeleye, following the latter’s appointment as the Vice-Chancellor, Crescent University, Abeokuta.

Speaking at the reception which was well attended by members of the Muslim community, Dr. Salisu spoke of the resolve by the community to construct a befitting mosque on the Campus.

However, he reiterated that the community will not embark on any Fund Raising to generate fund for  the project, observing that such decision were often counter-productive.

Dr. Salisu stated categorically that members of the community will internally source the money required for the construction of the mosque.

The Amir therefore appealed to the members to rise up to the challenge by contributing money willfully to the construction of the mosque, as doing so will please Allah, who will surely repay such gesture with the abundance of His blessing.
