STEP B Project Manager,
Professor Omolayo Ariyo
The University’s STEP B Project Team under the chairmanship of Professor Omolayo Ariyo, has been commended for a successful completion of the project mandates in the University.
The National Universities Commission (NUC)’s Consultant on STEP B Projects, Chief Adesanoye Ojo Fasakin, gave the commendation when he led a four-man team to UNAAB on an assessment tour of projects.
Chief Fasakin who was a former Bursar of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, said he was highly impressed of the performance of the UNAAB Project Team for its ability to ensure maximum utilization of the project fund.
The Consultant said the University had been “very prudent in the utilization of limited resources in acquiring essential equipment that could facilitate better teaching and understanding of science and technology subjects”.
He observed that “the impressive record of the University on STEP B should be enough to convince the World Bank to release more fund to it for agricultural programmes, particularly on food sufficiency programmes”.
Chief Fasakin however advised the University to enter into a maintenance agreement with the suppliers of the procured equipment in order to preserve their lifespan and ensure that they serve better and longer.
The Consultant also urged users of the equipment to be cautious in their handling of the equipment and always demonstrate appropriate maintenance culture.
