In order to decongest the main road from the activities of commercial motor drivers, the Management of the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (UNAAB) has approved the construction of a commercial Motor Park, behind the main University bus stop.

This fact was disclosed by the Director, Physical Planning Unit of the University, Mr. Babafemi Ayodele, during a brief chat with the UNAAB Bulletin Crew.

According to the Director, Management’s approval for the construction was ratified by the Governing Council, during its last meeting.

The construction will be done by direct-labour through the Physical Planning Unit, using Bitumen and Granite materials.

The 100 by 60 metre space will accommodate about forty-four taxis and sixteen buses at a time and it is expected to be completed within a period of three weeks.

Mr. Ayodele said the decision as to whether the Park would be a source of extra-government earning for the University would be reserved for Management consideration, on completion.

Meanwhile, UNAAB Bulletin Crew observed that the construction of walkways within the University is on-going as those ones leading to the College of Natural Sciences (COLNAS), College of Engineering (COLENG), University Library, GTB/ICT and Student Centre buildings, had been completed while those leading to the Senate Building are under construction.
