The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) is set to hold a 2-day Workshop on Data Collection for Ethnographic Research. Organised by the 2023 Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) National Research Fund (NRF) Digiculture Project, the Workshop would explore practical strategies and ethical considerations for collecting data for developing a predictive digital tool.
Additionally, it would provide participants with a theoretical framework, hands-on experiences, and opportunities to critically reflect on the challenges and opportunities of conducting ethnographic research in the digital sphere.
A memo released by the Principal Investigator/Project Leader, Prof. Olusegun Folorunso stated that the Workshop was particularly relevant for social scientists, anthropologists, communication scholars, as well as researchers from various disciplines interested in studying the intersections between digital technologies and culture.
Prof. Folorunso stated further that the Workshop is free as it was the contribution of the project sponsor to the University Community.
The Workshop would be held between October 29 and 30, 2024, by 11 a.m. daily at the Postgraduate School Auditorium.
