… As NSCDC Pays Courtesy Visit to FUNAAB

The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Babatunde Kehinde has called for synergy among the Nigerian Security Agencies to enhance efficient and effective security operations in the country.
Playing host to the topmost hierarchy of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) from the Odeda Divisional Headquarters, the Vice-Chancellor disclosed that the meeting was aimed at bolstering the existing partnerships between both parties and ensuring the safety of the University Community.
Highlighting security as a top priority, Prof. Kehinde who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, reiterated the University’s commitment to cooperating with the NSCDC, Odeda Division even as he emphasised the importance of inter-agency collaboration among security operatives, including the Nigerian Police and other relevant agencies, to address security challenges effectively.
He further stated that synergising with other sister agencies would strengthen security measures and foster collaboration.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed satisfaction with the NSCDC’s proactive approach to ensuring peace and safety on campus, commending them for their dedication to duties.
According to him, their engagement with the University Management to enhance cooperation has contributed significantly to a conducive academic environment.
Responding, the Divisional Officer in charge of Odeda, CSC Abiodun Akinwa, appreciated the Vice-Chancellor for the warm reception.
Stressing the importance of synergy, CSC Akin outlined the need to build upon existing relationships to enhance security efforts within and outside of the University campus.
Earlier, the Assistant Chief Environmental Officer (ACEO), Mr. Peter Bolarinwa, extended a warm welcome to the NSCDC Team, acknowledging their invaluable support during significant University events such as Matriculation and Convocation ceremonies.
He appreciated the NSCDC for their unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of the University Community.
Present at the meeting were the Deputy Registrar II, Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Mr. Moses Ayanda, including the Assistant Superintendent of Corps, Adebukola Adelegan, Kabiru Adeyemi, and Sakiru Jimoh who accompanied the NSCDC Odeda Divisional Officer.
