VC Commissions Boys Brigade Musical Instruments

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kolawole Salako has commissioned the newly purchased musical instruments procured for The Boys Brigade Nigeria, 2nd Ogun Cadet Company, FUNAAB, with a charge to the group to sustain and improve the tempo of commitment and dedication.

Represented by the Dean, Student Affairs, Professor Babatunde Idowu, the Vice-Chancellor appreciated the dedication and services being rendered to the University by the Brigade during its ceremonies, adding that the University is proud of them as its students.

Professor Salako advised them to be mindful of their academic pursuit and be good students by protecting the uniform they wear through their character, attitude, behaviour and total dedication, with a view to changing the character of their peers by laying good examples.

In his Goodwill Message, the Assistant Chaplain of the Boys Brigade Nigeria, FUNAAB Chapter, Professor Adewale Dipeolu appreciated the University Management for the good gesture stating that it was a good development. He urged the students to face their studies, and not be carried away by the euphoria of the purchase.

On his part, Mr. Tunde Solanke, who represented one of the Staff Advisers of the Brigade said he was happy that the purchase of the musical instrument had become a reality. He eulogised the fatherly kindness and magnanimity of the Vice-Chancellor in approving the purchase of the instruments, advising the Brigade to maintain them.

The War Marshal, Man O’ War, Nigeria, Statesman Charles Geteloma, commended the University Management and the Dean, Student Affairs for treating the students like their own children. He told members of the group that to whom much is given, much is expected, and advised them to use the instruments for the service of the University and the glory of God.

Earlier in his Welcome Address, the Captain-in-Charge, The Boys Brigade Nigeria, 2nd Ogun Cadet Company, FUNAAB, Mr. Olusola Akanji appreciated the Vice-Chancellor and his management team for believing in them. He said the Brigade had been yearning for the instruments since 2012 but lack of fund had been the major setback.

The instruments commissioned by the Vice-Chancellor include A set of Drum, 3 Trumpets, 1 Trombone, 1 Ceremonial Mace, 1 Note Stand and 1 Batton.
