The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, today, August 4, 2025, congratulated the trio of Yewande Oluwabukola Adegbopega, Taofeek Akorede Gasali, and Olayinka Deborah Akinola all from the Department of Agricultural Administration (AGAD), College of Agricultural Management and Rural Development (COLAMRUD), for clinching the second place at the prestigious 2025 Inter-University Quiz Competition organised by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM).

The competition, which took place in June 2025, brought together students from several conventional universities across Southwest Nigeria.

In recognition of their outstanding performance, the Vice-Chancellor hosted the excellent students and their mentors at a special commendation meeting. He applauded the students for their commitment and lauded the Department of Agricultural Administration for grooming them into national champions.

“This is not just a win for the Department, but for the entire University Community. It highlights the strength of our academic programmes and the dedication of our staff. These students represent the transformation we aim to achieve from curious undergraduates to confident, career-ready professionals,” Prof. Kehinde stated.

The Vice-Chancellor encouraged the students to leverage their success by pursuing professional certifications such as CIPM, particularly during their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) year, to enhance their career prospects. “This achievement is a foundation. Build on it. Keep acquiring knowledge and creating value because the world rewards those who keep growing,” he added.

Reinforcing this message, Head of the Department of Agricultural Administration, Prof. Adefunke Ayinde, stressed the strategic importance of the CIPM competition to student development. She revealed that an ongoing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University and CIPM was nearing completion.

Prof. Ayinde also hinted at the possibility of FUNAAB becoming a certified CIPM Training Centre, a development that could provide students with examination exemptions and enhance their preparation for professional roles in Human Resource and Personnel Management.

The team impressed judges and spectators alike with their in-depth knowledge and analytical skills in the field of personnel management.

Also present at the meeting were Prof. Oluwakemi Fapojuwo and Dr. Joshua Yila.
