… As Family Visits FUNAAB to Express Gratitude

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde has extolled the late pioneer Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Nurudeen Olorun-Nimbe Adedipe, as a visionary leader who dedicated his life to advancing Nigeria, FUNAAB, and humanity.

Prof. Kehinde paid this glowing tribute during a Courtesy Visit by the family of the late Prof. Adedipe to the Vice-Chancellor today, November 27, 2024. The family visited to express their appreciation for the University’s support during and after the Islamic burial rites, as well as the 8th Day Fidau prayer held in honour of the iconic Academic.

Welcoming the family, Prof. Kehinde reflected on Prof. Adedipe’s transformative leadership and foundational contributions, emphasising that the University’s current successes were deeply rooted in the policies, architectural designs, and principles he established. He described the late pioneer Vice-Chancellor’s legacy as a beacon of excellence that continues to inspire growth at FUNAAB.

The Vice-Chancellor also acknowledged the intellectual values and discipline instilled by Prof. Adedipe in his children. He encouraged them to uphold their father’s ideals and assured them of the University’s unwavering support and partnership.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Kola Adebayo, further commended Prof. Adedipe’s foresight in acquiring the University’s expansive landmass, which has been instrumental in its growth. He highlighted the late academic’s legacy of discipline, hardwork, and diligence, which remained a guiding principle for the University.

Contributing to the tributes, the Registrar, Dr. Titus Adeniyi and the Bursar, Mr. Olukayode Osinuga, including the immediate past Acting Registrar, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Dawodu, lauded Prof. Adedipe’s selfless service and pioneering efforts. They reaffirmed his significant contributions to FUNAAB’s development and assured the family of his enduring impact on FUNAAB’s history.

In their response, members of Prof. Adedipe’s family expressed profound gratitude to FUNAAB Management for their steadfast support during their father’s passing and the funeral ceremonies. They pledged to sustain his legacy and continue contributing positively to the University community and beyond.
