The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, on March 24, 2025, participated in a high-level symposium at the Lagos Continental Hotel, engaging with key entrepreneurial representatives from China’s top national-level high-tech industrial parks.
The event, hosted at the Soul Lounge of the 5-Star hotel, brought together stakeholders from the Zhongguancun Science Park, InforValley Industry-Education Integration Technology, the Ogun Guangdong Free Trade Zone, and the China-Nigeria Industry Education Consortium.
The symposium convened distinguished diplomats from the Chinese Consulate in Lagos, including Nigerian domestic industries spanning manufacturing, renewable energy, finance, agriculture, and the digital economy, as well as trade associations, technology and innovation enterprises, higher education institutions, and vocational training centres.

A key focus of the event was showcasing the development and strategic advantages of the Ogun Guangdong Free Trade Zone, as well as introducing initiatives of the China-Nigeria Industry-Education Alliance in vocational education and Chinese language training.
The Vice-Chancellor was represented at the event by the Head of Department of Animal Production and Health (APH), Prof. Lawrence Egbeyale.
Meanwhile, FUNAAB has remained dedicated to playing a strategic role in leveraging international partnerships to enhance agricultural innovation, digital transformation, and industrial development, ensuring a brighter and more competitive future for Nigeria.
