VC Expresses Interest in Students’ Development

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde has reaffirmed the commitment of the University Management to the development of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta International School (FUNIS).

The Vice-Chancellor made this known during the 2023 Christmas Carol Service and Seven Lessons held at the PTA Auditorium on December 14, 2023, themed, “Emmanuel.”

Speaking through the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, (Academic) and Chairman, FUNAAB Schools’ Management Board, Prof. Christian Ikeobi, the Vice-Chancellor said that the University Management and FUNIS stakeholders are focused on promoting the School’s image.

The Vice-Chancellor, therefore, congratulated the Acting Principal, Mr. Olusola Ilori, and the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), as well as the students, giving all the glory to God who in His infinite mercies has spared their lives and made it possible for them to witness the day.

Prof. Kehinde, however, enjoined the Acting Principal and staff members to re-dedicate themselves to the growth and development of the School.

The Vice-Chancellor wished everyone a prosperous Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance.

Earlier in his Welcome Address, the Acting Principal, FUNIS, Mr. Olusola Ilori appreciated God and the Vice-Chancellor, who in his love for FUNIS, attended to all the requests concerning the school swiftly.

Mr. Ilori further expressed gratitude to the Chairman of FUNAAB Schools’ Management Board and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Christian Ikeobi who has always been there for the School.

The Acting Principal said the little achievement the School made could not have been possible without the support, cooperation, and encouragement of the entire workforce (Teaching and Non-Teaching staff), as well as the energetic students.

Mr. Ilori prayed that the joy and blessings of the season be made manifest in all aspects of everyone’s lives.

In the same vein, the Guest Minister, Deacon (Dr.) David Iyanda appreciated everyone, making a reference to Mathew 1: 21-23.

Deacon Iyanda observed that the prophecy as stated in Mathew 1:23, was fulfilled on FUNIS to mean that God has been in the affairs of the School all the while, hence the tremendous success.

Present at the event were the Ag. Director, Health Services, Dr. Oluseyi Anjorin; Member, FUNAAB Schools’ Management Board, Dr. Oladayo Oduwole; Representative of the Head Teacher, FUNAAB Staff School, Mrs.Olukemi Olukehinde; Secretary, FUNAAB Schools’ Management Board, Mr. Olufemi Babatunde; Ag. Head, Directorate of Public Relations, Mr. Olasunkanmi Olajide as well as parents, and students of FUNIS.
