Series of awards and laurels won by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kolawole Salako increased with another honour bestowed on him by the Management of Temis Media, publishers of TM News Magazine. This time around, the Vice-Chancellor was honoured with the Dynamic Role Model Award in Academic Excellence, during the 7th TM News Magazine Summit themed, “Security, Agriculture, Transportation: Seeking a Sustainable Solution for National Development”, held recently in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Speaking at the event, Prof. Salako reiterated the need for man to think agriculture in whatever he does, stating that “If we want to grow as a country, we all have to grow first as a person”. The Vice-Chancellor seized the opportunity to inform the gathering of the tripodal mandate of FUNAAB, which can only be achieved under a peaceful and enabling environment, adding that without security, successful agriculture cannot be practised. He reeled out some of the major achievements of the University in the areas of crop and livestock production, as he charged people to stop thinking that agriculture is just about using the cutlass and hoe. The Vice-Chancellor admonished youths to tap into the current technological advancement as an opportunity for them to bring about the desired change and comfort in agriculture. The awardee solicited the support of all in advancing the University towards being a centre of excellence, saying that FUNAAB was always known for good reputation, assuring that its gate is ever open for consultations, clarifications and enquiries.
