The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, joined other dignitaries in welcoming the President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, to Lagos on December 11, 2024.

The reception, hosted by the German Consulate at the Nike Art Gallery, Lekki, brought together an array of distinguished guests, including the German Ambassador to Nigeria, H.E. Annett Günthe, the German Consul General in Lagos, Mr. Weert Borner and his spouse, renowned Artist, Chief Nike Davies-Okundaye, diplomats, academics, celebrities, and other eminent personalities.

The event underscored the strengthening of bilateral relations between Germany and Nigeria, with academics playing a pivotal role in fostering collaborations between institutions in both countries.
