The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Babatunde Kehinde has promised to enhance the digital services operated at the UNAAB Microfinance Bank (UMFB).
Prof. Kehinde, who is also the Chairman of the Bank’s Board of Directors, disclosed this on December 9, 2024, at the 4th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Bank, held at the Postgraduate School Auditorium.
Presenting the Chairman’s report, Prof. Kehinde assured all the stakeholders that the Board remained committed to enhancing customer experience through improved electronic banking services in the coming year. He revealed plans for the rollout of a new mobile app, the introduction of USSD services, and the reinstallation of ATMs to ensure seamless banking operations for customers.
He commended stakeholders for their steadfast loyalty and unwavering support, which he said have been instrumental to the Bank’s consistent performance.
Prof. Kehinde noted UMFB’s remarkable achievements in 2023 despite prevailing economic challenges. He disclosed that changes had been made to the Board’s composition, announcing the appointment of Mr. Olukayode Osinuga, the Bursar of the University as an Institutional Representative, replacing Mr. Chukwuwinke Ezekpeazu, the immediate past Bursar, and the inclusion of Mr. Olufemi Owoade, the President of FUNAAB’s Cooperative Thrifts and Credit Society (CT&CS), representing the Corporate Interest.
Presenting the audited 2023 Annual Reports and Financial Statements for the year ending December 31, 2023, the Managing Director of UMFB, Mr. Adebiyi Ayoade, expressed gratitude to the Directors and shareholders for their support and guidance. He also commended the Bank’s staff for their dedication, urging them to remain proactive in the coming year.
In the Goodwill Messages, Directors and shareholders lauded the MD and his Team for their efforts, stressing that the newly commissioned Camp Branch was established to boost the Bank’s financial performance and reputation.
The AGM was attended by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Kola Adebayo; the Bank’s External Auditor, Mr. Jubril Lawal, and the Board Secretary, Mrs. Olanrewaju Tanimowo. Also present were some Directors, including Alhaji Kamaldeen Adedo and Mr. John Alebiosu, along with several other shareholders from within and outside FUNAAB.
