… As FUNAAB Alumni Host PUDS 4.0 Summit

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Alumni Association has successfully hosted the fourth edition of its Post University Degree Summit (PUDS 4.0), with the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, charging students to begin building their legacy early through resilience, clarity of purpose, and strategic networking.

The summit, held today March 25, 2026, was themed “From Campus to Legacy: Maximising Today, Building Relationships for Tomorrow.” It was held to equip students with the mindset and practical tools required for professional excellence and long-term impact. The event brought together members of the University Management, alumni leaders, and students to deliberate on critical issues such as career development, financial independence, and the value of relationship-building.

Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Olawale Dairo, the Vice-Chancellor commended the Alumni Association for the initiative, noting that such engagements significantly enhance the University’s reputation for producing employable graduates. He stressed the importance of intentional personal development and early preparation for the realities of the professional world.

In his remarks, the Global President of the FUNAAB Alumni Association, Otunba Bolaji Gbadamosi, described the summit as a vital link between academic life and the professional sphere. He noted the Association’s commitment to student welfare, disclosing that approximately ₦50 million had been contributed towards tuition support for indigent students in the current academic session, ensuring access to education for all willing students.

Delivering the Keynote Address, Mr. Fasasi Sarafadeen, MD/CEO, Partner De Ecosystems Limited, described legacy as a continuous process that begins during undergraduate studies. He encouraged students to go beyond academic qualifications by acquiring relevant digital skills and adopting problem-solving approaches that foster productivity and financial independence even before graduation.

The summit also featured insightful panel discussions on “Building Relationship Capital” and “Campus Involvement to Career Success,” providing participants with practical guidance on navigating post-university challenges, upholding integrity, and leveraging alumni networks for career growth.

The event concluded with a resounding call for students to maximise their university experience by balancing academic excellence with active involvement in leadership and professional associations as a pathway to sustainable success.
