…Report is Heartwarming, says VC

The University of Agriculture, Abeokuta has recorded a great leap in the latest Global University ranking, released by the ranking body, www.webometrics.info, on February 2, 2011.

In a release by the University Co-ordinator, Webometrics Centre, Dr. Olusegun Folorunso, the University featured prominently amongst the top 12,010 Universities of the world, out of the over 20,000 Universities considered for ranking.

In the ranking, UNAAB is eighth, amongst the sixteen Universities in Nigeria that made the league table and 95th among other African Universities.

This would be the first time that UNAAB will appear on the list of the leading one hundred institutions in Africa, the release added.

Reacting to the ranking, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oluwafemi Balogun said “the report is heartwarming and a testimony to the commitment and dedication (of the University) to the realization of our internationalization dream.

With determination, better focus and resolve to excel, we CAN improve on the ranking”.
