… Harvests Fresh Vegetables
In a significant move to drive the influx of visitors, to increase the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) recently had the pleasure of hosting children from the Prison Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Ogun State Chapter, for an unforgettable wildlife adventure at the FUNAAB Zoo Park.
The children embarked on a thrilling adventure, enjoying a guided tour of the park, where they explored the beauty and diversity of the animal kingdom. From strolling through lush trails to observing fascinating wildlife up close, the visit provided an exciting opportunity for these young explorers to connect with nature.
In another development, the Zoo Park has continued to demonstrate its innovative approach to sustainability and green initiatives, with a fresh harvest of vegetables made recently. It marked the second bountiful harvest from the Zoo’s ornamental garden, managed by the Park’s gardener, Mr. Daniel Sunday.
Members of staff eagerly purchased the fresh produce, ensuring a healthy addition to their weekend meals. Not only did the humans enjoy the harvest, but zoo animals were also treated to some of the fresh vegetables, a testament to the abundance cultivated.
The innovation formed part of the plans conceived by the Director, Zoo Park, Prof. Sammy Sam-Wobo. Since taking on the role, he has made significant strides in improving the Park’s overall image and value, further enhancing its importance to both the University community and the animals it houses.
