2024 NIPR Week: VC Receives Ogun NIPR Delegates

In preparation for the inaugural NIPR Week, slated to be held with fanfare, the Local Organising Committee (LOC) initiated proceedings by paying a Courtesy Visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, in his Office recently.

Leading the delegation was Mrs. Seun Boye, Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Ogun State Chapter.

Expressing warm felicitations, Mrs. Boye commended Prof. Kehinde on his recent appointment and apprised him of the forthcoming NIPR Week activities scheduled to unfold at the June 12 Cultural Centre from April 22 – 26, 2024.

Central to these activities, as noted by Mrs. Boye, was the engagement with Mass Communication students to impart essential insights into the field of Public Relations. She extended an invitation to students of Communication and General Studies at FUNAAB to participate in the event.

Besides, Mrs. Boye revealed that the Committee had also paid a courtesy call on the Chairman of the Obas’ Council, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, the Akarigbo of Remo land.

According to her, Monarchs were invited to partake in discussions on leveraging PR strategies for the advancement of their territories, complementing governmental efforts with corporate social responsibility initiatives.

In response, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde lauded the significance of the impending NIPR Week, particularly emphasising the educational benefits for aspiring PR professionals.

He pledged unwavering support for the event’s success, ensuring active involvement throughout its duration.

A pivotal moment during the visit was the exchange of prospectuses, with Prof. Kehinde presenting each delegate with the FUNAAB Handbook.

In return, Mrs. Boye presented copies of the Chapter’s published Compendium to the hosts, cementing the collaborative spirit underlying the forthcoming NIPR Week.
