The position of Registrar of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria is vacant. Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position.

THE UNIVERSITY

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, was established on 1st January, 1988. It has attained a position of eminence in various Agricultural Sciences, Natural Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, Engineering and Management Sciences. The University presently has nine (9) Colleges.

THE POSITION

The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the University and shall be responsible to the
Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administrative work of the University except as regards academic and financial matters. The Registrar carries an enormous responsibility. Promotion of the welfare and discipline of a thriving workforce comprising academic and non-teaching staff relies largely on the capability and quality leadership the Registrar can provide. The Registrar is, by virtue of that office, Secretary to Council, Senate, Congregation and Convocation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must possess a good honours Degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division in Humanities or related disciplines obtained from a recognised University and must have had not less than fifteen (15) years of relevant post-graduation experience in University administration or related institution. The candidate should not be below the rank of a Deputy Registrar or cognate senior management position. Possession of a higher degree will be an added advantage.

THE CANDIDATE

The candidate shall be a person of rounded character and personality with excellent interpersonal relations. He/She must be able to instil confidence in others and command the loyalty and respect of people. He/She must fully understand the complexity of a University system and be capable of bringing out the best in the subordinates. Candidates must be Information and Communication Technology (ICT) compliant and be a good team player. He/She must be of pleasant disposition, high integrity and strong moral character so as to inspire and maintain discipline among staff and students.

SALARY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

The remuneration and other conditions of service are as applicable to the post of REGISTRAR of all Nigerian Federal Universities and as may be determined from time-to-time by the Government/Governing Council as appropriate. Fringe benefits include a Pension in consonance with the Contributory Pension Scheme and appropriate allowances as may be approved from time-to-time by the Government/Governing Council.

Each applicant must have three (3) referees who should be requested by the applicant to forward their Referee’s Report under confidential cover by courier service directly to the Vice-Chancellor.

All applications should be submitted by Courier Service under confidential covers in sealed envelopes marked “Post of Registrar, FUNAAB” to reach the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, P. M. B. 2240, Abeokuta, Nigeria, not later than six (6) weeks from the date of this publication.
