The Registrar of the University, Dr. ‘Bola Adekola has described the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA) as vital to sound administration of universities. The Registrar stated this while rejoicing with members of the association during their end-of-year get-together, which was organised to appreciate God for protecting members throughout the year.
Dr. Adekola lauded the executive members of ANUPA for taking the right step in the right direction to revive the body. He noted that there was need for the get-together, to commemorate the revival of ANUPA, which had not been active for some time. Appreciating the new executive, he said that they had shown that there would be better days ahead, adding that the turnout of members at the occasion also indicated that the new executive would be having the full support of members. The Registrar advised administrators to put in their best in the New Year to make FUNAAB a leading university.
The new ANUPA Chairperson and Head, Service Compact with all Nigerians (SERVICOM) Unit, Mrs. Adesumbo Laniyan disclosed that one of her plans in taking the association to greater heights was to engage members in training within and outside the university, and to also ensure that more members become fully registered administrators. Goodwill messages were delivered by the University’s Chairman, National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT), Comrade Joseph Olurinde; Comrade Isiaq Odunjo, who spoke on behalf of the Non-Academic Staff of Nigerian Universities (NASU); and Chairman, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Comrade Oluwarotimi Fasunwon.
