The Association of Science Laboratory Technologists of Nigeria (ASLTON), FUNAAB Branch, has elected a new executive to run the affairs of the body for the next three years. The officers are: Mr. Chidi Emele, Department of Mechatronics, College of Engineering (COLENG), Chairman; Mr. Emmanuel Macaulay, Department of Physics, College of Physical Sciences (COLPHYS), Secretary; Mrs. Olabimpe Sorinola, Department of Pasture and Range Management, College of Animal Science and Livestock Production (COLANIM), Treasurer; and Mr. Bamidele Akinnuoye, Department of Physics (COLPHYS), Public Relations Officer.
ASLTON, which metamorphosed from the Nigerian Institute of Science Laboratory Technology (NISLT), is responsible for the handling of the welfare, labour matters, and issues affecting its registered members. The Association also elected seven executive members at the state level, out of which three are members of staff of the University. They are: Dr. Wumi Abimbola, Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, Chairman; Mr. Sunday Abhulimen (FUNAAB), Vice-Chairman; Mr. Jeremiah Onimisi (FUNAAB), Secretary; and Mr. Emmanuel Macaulay (FUNAAB), Treasurer. Others are: Mr. Israel Unuebho, Bioresources Development Centre (BIODEC), Owode-Yewa, Public Relations Officer; Mrs. Olufunke Odufejo (OOU), Financial Secretary; and Mr. John Adegoke (OOU), Auditor.
