The Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies (CENTS) of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), today, July 2, 2025, hosted a One-Day Workshop focused on integrating the Inspire-Create-Start-Scale (ICSS) Entrepreneurship Modules into the General Entrepreneurship Course Synopsis of the University.
The event, held at the Green Chamber, brought together lecturers and Academic leaders from various Colleges and Departments, reflecting a University-wide commitment to strengthening entrepreneurship education.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, the Director of the Directorate of Academic Information Systems (DACIS), Prof. Olusegun Folorunso, described the ICSS framework as a strategic tool for bridging the gap between knowledge and enterprise, noting that it would empower students not to only learn entrepreneurship but to live and practice it meaningfully.
The Vice-Chancellor emphasised that effective implementation requires joint commitment from staff, students, and the University Management, urging lecturers to embrace the modules while the University continues to provide institutional support.
In her Welcome Address, the Director of CENTS, Prof. Emily Ayo-John, said the Workshop’s theme aligned with the national objectives of reducing graduate unemployment through skills acquisition and enterprise development.

According to her, the ICSS modules, already approved by the Committee of Deans and Directors (CODAD) and the Curriculum Committee, would enrich the learning experience at FUNAAB by promoting self-employment, business creation, and innovation among students.
Giving a brief on the institutionalisation of ICSS in FUNAAB, the Dean, College of Biosciences (COLBIOS) and the ICSS Technical Coordinator, Prof. Iyabode Kehinde, stressed that entrepreneurship cannot thrive without inspiration, noting that the ICSS model seeks to awaken creativity and problem-solving among students.

She explained that the goal was to develop prototypes and practical solutions that students can relate to, adding that integrating ICSS into Departmental courses would transform FUNAAB graduates into job creators.
Highlights of the Workshop included Technical Sessions by Mr. Ismaeel Lawal, GIZ Representative and a Business Development Expert, who discussed what ICSS Entrepreneurship Development Modules are; Prof. Elijah Obayelu, who spoke on Delivery Methods; and Prof. Ayo John, who led a session on Course Synopsis Development and Cs Curriculum Integration.
