Chemistry Hosts German Scholar, Eyes Research Collaboration

Chemistry Department, in the College of Physical Sciences (COLPHYS) is eyeing possible research collaboration with European Universities in Germany and Spain, through Professor David Diaz who paid a courtesy visit to the Department recently.

Professor Diaz who visited FUNAAB from the Institute of Organic Chemistry, University of Regensburg, Germany also took time out to deliver the lecture titled, “Gels as Confined Microenvironments to Perform Air-Sensitive Photoredox Catalysis under Aerobic Condition” to students and staff of the Department.

Professor Diaz outline possible research collaboration/opportunities between his Universities with FUNAAB students and researchers in Chemistry.

He also thanked Professor Enoch Dare who facilitated his visit to FUNAAB and described him as a dedicated researcher.

Earlier, Professor Diaz, led by the Acting Head of Department, Dr. Aliu Lasisi was hosted to a welcome programme by the Department and was also conducted round the Chemistry Laboratory and other facilities of the Department.
