A Chinese Company, XINXIANG ZHONGNUO Mechanical Equipment Company Limited is seeking partnership with the University in the area of livestock production and planting of crops, especially maize and cassava.
The team, led by Mr. Akinsanya Olufunso who was accompanied by Mr. Darry Zhao (a Chinese), Mr. Tinuade Akintunde (an Alumnus) and Dr. Osidipe Adekunle sought for partnership during a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olusola Babatunde Kehinde.
Welcoming the team, the Vice-Chancellor, reiterated his administration’s readiness to partner with the company and reputed organisations, provided such partnership would assist the University to fulfill its mandate of providing the agricultural needs of the region.
Prof. Kehinde assured the team of availability of large expanse of land and a dam for all- season farming.
Speaking, the leader of the team disclosed that areas of the proposed partnership would include – Establishing a demonstration and experience hub in FUNAAB;
– Investing in mechanized farming in maize and cassava;
– Livestock production;
– Processing and packaging of products.
At the end of the visit, the Chairman, Campus Security Committee, Prof. Jonathan Atungwu conducted the visitors round the facilities of the University.
