The College of Plant Science and Crop Production (COLPLANT) in a show of appreciation has celebrated some of their retired Professors for raising the bars of excellence in the University.
The celebrated Professors are, Prof. Stephen Afolami, Prof. Dupe Akintobi and Prof. Michael Ajala.
Appreciating the retired Professors, The immediate past Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Prof. Bolanle Akeredolu-Ale lauded the retired dons for being reliable and trustworthy partners in progress, noting that though the Professors are retired but are not yet tired judging from the way their faces are glowing with joy, satisfaction and full of life.
She prayed that the Lord should continue to sustain them as they enjoy their retirement.
Other members of staff who spoke at the event commended the retirees for their hard work, patience and love for academics which made them contribute to the progress of the University and helped them achieve their goals towards reaching the peak of their chosen careers.
Responding on behalf of other celebrants, Prof. Ajala expressed their appreciation and joy towards everyone who came to celebrate them, stressing that, their happiness knows no bounds.
Prof. Ajala however, called on members of Staff not to be in a hurry in life as whatever belongs to them will always locate them in due time, adding that people should always pursue things that are within their reach, uphold the truth, embrace love and be patient at all times.
Prof. Ajala appreciated the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kolawole Salako for his good leadership and for making out time to celebrate with them, praying that the Lord will continue to stir the boat of the University to a safe harbour.
