Commendation Service for Late Prof. Momoh -FUNAAB

Members of the University community have bade a final farewell to the late Professor of Farm Management and Agricultural Finance, Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management, College of Agricultural Management and Rural Development (COLAMRUD), Siaka Momoh. described Prof. Momoh as an “Academic par excellence”, who served meritoriously with grace and passion by contributing immensely to the development of the University, College, and Department in particular. He noted that the deceased was “a good team player, a gentleman in his approach to matters, no matter the pressure, he took things easy”, adding that although death ends a life, but not a relationship and so, “Professor Momoh will be dearly remembered by all his students and colleagues as an affectionate and beloved teacher, who gave his best to his students till the last day, and as a person of high integrity, honesty and sincerity”.

A close friend of the deceased, Prof. Samuel Oluwalana of the Department of Forestry and Wildlife Management, College of Environmental Resources Management (COLERM), said late Prof. Momoh was a thorough-bred professional colleague, quiet and never an intrusive man, who always quantifies the amount of words he spoke at any given time. Other speakers, who gave tributes corroborated earlier speakers by describing the deceased as a gentle man, quiet, peace loving, deliberate, thorough person, diligent, hardworking, and positive-minded person. He joined the services of the University on June 19, 1987 as Lecturer II when the University was known as College of Science and Technology, University of Lagos, and rose through the ranks to become a Professor. It would be recalled that the late Prof. Momoh’s passed away on December 23, 2019, after a brief illness at the age of 66 years.
