In a landmark decision aimed at boosting institutional efficiency and aligning operations with global best practices, the Governing Council of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has approved the creation of two new Directorates within the University’s Information and Communication Technology framework.
The resolution was made during a Special Meeting of the Council held on Thursday, May 1, 2025, following the presentation of a comprehensive report by the Committee on the Review of the Rules and Regulations Governing the Conditions of Service in the University. After thorough deliberation, the Council adopted the Committee’s recommendations for implementation.

Arising from the review and in response to the growing need to restructure the Information and Communication Technology Resource Centre (ICTREC), the Council approved the establishment of the Directorate of Academic Information Systems (DACIS) and the Directorate of Information Communication and Technology Services (DICTS).
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde has since approved key appointments to lead the newly created Directorates. Prof. Olusegun Folorunso has been appointed Director of DACIS, while Mr. Temitope Soretire would serve as the Acting Director of DICTS. Both appointments are effective from June 10, 2025.
The restructuring is expected to enhance service delivery, improve data and information management, and support the University’s digital transformation drive in line with international standards.
