As part of his ongoing tour of Colleges, Directorates Departments and Units under his supervision, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Kola Adebayo, on March 10, 2025, paid an official visit to the Institute of Food Security, Environmental Resources, and Agricultural Research (IFSERAR).
During the visit, Prof. Adebayo engaged with the leadership, researchers and other staff members of the Institute commending their contributions to food security, environmental sustainability, and agricultural research. He emphasised the critical role of the Institute in driving the University’s research agenda, particularly in developing innovative solutions to enhance agricultural productivity.
Prof. Adebayo reaffirmed the University’s support for IFSERAR’s initiatives, assuring the researchers that FUNAAB Management remained dedicated to strengthening research infrastructure and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration. He also encouraged the Institute to explore more community-based interventions and technology transfer initiatives that would directly benefit local farmers.
Earlier in his welcome speech, the Director of IFSERAR, Prof. Olusegun Idowu provided insights into the Institute’s ongoing projects, highlighting recent breakthroughs and commitment to fostering strategic partnerships for research funding and impact-driven agricultural innovations.
The visit concluded with an interactive session with the staff members whereby questions were asked and comments made. Meanwhile, the engagement underscored FUNAAB’s continuous efforts to enhance its research and development landscape for national and global relevance.
