FAKE NEWS: VC Warns Students:

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kolawole Salako has warned students not to destroy the certificates they are studying hard to earn at the end of their academic pursuit by posting fake news on the social media or making baseless and unfounded comments in the print media.

Addressing students during his facility tour of Umar Kabir and Iyalode Tinubu male and female Hostels respectively, Professor Salako noted with dismay that unknown to some erring students, they are degrading, undermining and devaluing the quality of the certificate they are to earn anytime they indulge in the unpatriotic act of posting spurious information about the University in the media.

The Vice-Chancellor who spoke against the backdrop of some students posting mischievous information, especially in the media, in their attempts to run down FUNAAB warned them to desist from the nefarious act as they would be earning the University’s Certificate.

He therefore enjoined the students to use the social media responsibly, especially to project the University in good light, in order to, among other things, enhance the quality of their certificate.

According to him, “I want to urge you to use the social media responsibly. Don’t carry or post fake news so that you don’t ruin your certificate by running down the University”.

Professor Salako reiterated management’s commitment to students’ welfare describing his tour of the Hostels as a practical example.
