… Programme Set to Commence at FUNAAB on September 15

Final- and penultimate-year students of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) are set to benefit from the Federal Government’s Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (iDICE) Skills Training-to-Jobs Programme, designed to equip young Nigerians with in-demand digital skills and connect them with employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.

The programme is scheduled to commence at FUNAAB on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, with an engagement and sensitisation session for interested students at 11:00 a.m. at the Prof. Olusola Oyewole Lecture Theatre.

Speaking on the initiative, the Director, Directorate of Academic Information Systems (DACIS), Prof. Olusegun Folorunso, said the engagement would introduce students to the opportunities available under the programme and expose them to avenues for acquiring relevant digital skills, developing marketable competencies and pursuing careers in the rapidly expanding global digital economy.

Prof. Folorunso explained that iDICE is a Federal Government initiative implemented by the Bank of Industry (BOI), with support from development partners, to strengthen participation in Nigeria’s digital and creative economy through skills development, employment and entrepreneurship.

According to him, the programme would enhance students’ employability and entrepreneurial prospects by providing access to practical training and other opportunities within the evolving digital economy.

The DACIS Director further disclosed that the engagement would explore the possibility of establishing an iDICE training hub at FUNAAB, which would provide students with convenient and sustained access to digital skills development opportunities.

He said DACIS is coordinating the engagement in collaboration with the programme organisers, while encouraging interested students to attend the session, learn more about the opportunities available and register for the programme.
