FUNAAB 63rd Inaugural Lecturer Becomes SAU Council Member

The 63rd Inaugural Lecturer of the University, Professor Victor Olowe has been appointed member of the Governing Council of Samuel Adegboyega University (SAU), Ogwa, Edo State.

The University Don is of the Department of Plant Physiology and Crop Production, College of Plant Science and Crop Production (COLPLANT) as well as Institute of Food Security, Environmental Resources and Agricultural Research (IFSERAR).

The appointment comes under the Council’s authority of the Apostolic Church Nigeria, LAWNA Territory, the Proprietor of SAU and the Visitor to the University, Pastor (Dr.) E.S. Awojide.

According to the Appointment Letter signed by the LAWNA Territorial Administrative Secretary, Pastor (Dr.) L.O. Oladele, the appointment is with immediate effect upon receipt of an Acceptance Letter from Professor Olowe.

Professor Olowe recently delivered the University’s 63rd Inaugural Lecture titled, “Unlocking The Production Potentials of Some Annual Oilseed Crops in Nigeria”.

It would be recalled that the current Vice-Chancellor of the University is Professor Babatunde Idowu of the Department of Pure and Applied Zoology, College of Biosciences (COLBIOS), of FUNAAB. 

Professor Peter Okebukola, former Executive Secretary of National Universities Commission (NUC) is the Chairman of Council.
